GENERAL INFORMATION
The Netherlands is part of the Schengen territory which includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
A Schengen visa is a document that can allow the applicant to travel to the Schengen territory. However, it does not automatically give the applicant the right to enter the Schengen territory. Border Control Officers may still ask the applicant to provide additional information or supporting documents concerning financial means, length of stay and the purpose of the visit.
Some of the Schengen countries mentioned above require information about visa applications of Egyptian passport holders. In general, a visa application will be processed within 14 days. In some cases the embassy has to forward the visa application to the competent authorities for a final decision. In this case, it may take from 14 days up to two months before the visa may be issued.
Advice: Plan your trip early and make an appointment accordingly (if possible up to 3 months before intended travel time).
