Applying
for a Tier 2 Work Permit UK Visa is an employer-led process with the sponsoring company applying on behalf of the candidate.

In order to qualify to work in the UK under the Tier 2 scheme, individuals from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) must:
- already have a job offer from a licensed sponsor with a valid
certificate
 of sponsorship; and
- pass the points-based assessment

To find out more about employee and employer eligibility requirements, visit Tier 2 work permits.  If this page is helpful you may also like to visit our UK Work Permit page.

As well as the standard Tier 2 immigration, work permits can be obtained via two alternative routes:

  • Change of employment: Tier 2 immigration candidates can do a change of employment whilst in the UK, however the process of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship must be repeated and a candidate must be reassessed against the points test.
  • Intra-Company Transfers (ICT's) allow multi-national employers to transfer overseas workers already employed by the company to fill a specific area of expertise.
