Assessment streams for Manitoba immigration

You can apply to be a provincial nominee through the general stream, but the strongest candidates should go through one of the priority assessment streams:

Employer Direct – for applicants who have an offer of a long-term, full-time job in Manitoba and already have a work permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
International Student -- for those who have an offer of a long-term, full-time job in Manitoba, or a postgraduate open work permit issued by CIC.
Family Support – covers those with a close relative in Manitoba who has signed a Manitoba Affidavit of Support (MAS).
Strategic Initiatives – includes people who’ve received an invitation to apply as part of a targeted overseas promotional initiative.

Successful applicants will receive a certificate of provincial nomination from the Government of Manitoba. The next step for immigration to Manitoba is to apply for permanent residence through CIC.
